20 Questions Project

In class today, we began talking about the concept of A.I. and how it functions in relation to human beings. In order to better understand A.I. , we went on the website 20q.net and played several games with a partner to see if the system could guess what we were thinking. Normally, 20q is pretty smart, but this time in particular failed to agree. 3 out of the 5 times we tried, 20q guessed over 20 questions, and 2 out of those 3 times, it couldn't guess at all. The results to me were surprising in a way, but on second thought, the system must have a lot of searching and information skimming to do in order to find the precise answer. There were some complications in the sense that not everyone who thinks of the same object/person agrees on the same answer, leading to some potential contradictions. With that in mind, the system may have had a harder time trying to narrow down its search. Overall, I enjoyed this activity and I look forward to learning more about Artificial Intelligence this unit.
