Hour of Code

In today's lesson, we spent our class time online working with the "Hour of Code" website that has gone viral over the web. Through this website, one can learn about several different coding methods - including JavaScript, C++, and others. I personally spent my time on this website writing my first computer program through a drag and drop method. I enjoyed this method, as it was user friendly and easy to comprehend.
After completing the lesson, I felt a little more knowledgeable about what exactly goes on behind the scenes when a website runs a certain program or performs a certain action. At times, it did feel a little baffling, with the plethora of potential codes that could be successful - although there were many right answers, the preferred one was always the simplest one. However, there was a guide with you step by step through every move, with which you can check to make sure that you input the correct action the correct amount of times, or turned the right direction, etc.
Overall, I thoroughly enjoyed this program and everything it had to offer. I find coding very interesting and would be willing to spend more of my free time on this website just to better understand the meaning of what goes on behind everything I'm doing on this computer. Even what I'm writing right now!
